Active Release Treatment
Dr. Dunn is a full-body certified Active Release Treatment Provider. Active Release Technique is a soft tissue therapy designed to treat adhesions and/or scar tissue throughout the body to help restore proper muscle length, motion, and function. When muscles are injured, our body uses scar tissue to repair the injury. The problem is when the scar tissue is not adequately stressed in the proper directions, and obstructions to movement or range of motion occur. Adhesions, trigger points, knots, or scar tissue may develop in the muscles when this occurs. Stretching alone may not restore proper motion and movement, and manual therapy may be necessary throughout the muscles’ motion.
Active release technique is effective at treating conditions such as:
- Problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves
- Plantar fasciitis, torticollis, patella tendonitis, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, shin splints, headaches, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, piriformis syndrome, shoulder pain, neck pain, back pain, foot pain, hip pain, knee pain, etc.
These are the names of a few conditions that can be treated with Active Release Technique.
Dr. Dunn has attended and passed certification exams in Active Release Treatment for:
- Lower Extremity
- Upper Extremity
- Spine
- Long Nerve Entrapments
